Horn player Taylor Hestvik is a dynamic performer and educator based in Amherst, currently completing her Master of Music in Horn Performance at UMass Amherst. She discovered her love for French horn playing through her cousins, professional horn players Nora Hannisdal and Sofia Hestvik, before pursuing professional studies at the University of Hartford in 2019. Taylor has performed both nationally and internationally with orchestras such as the Toppenkurset International Summer Festival for Music in Mosjøen, Nordland, Norway, directed by Nicholas Carthy. She actively plays in musical pits around the Massachusetts and Connecticut areas, recently completing a run of Les Misérables this past spring. Taylor is also an active member of the UMass Graduate Wind Quintet. When not on stage, she enjoys Vinyasa yoga, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her cat, Goose.
