Anton Boutkov

Anton Boutkov began playing the viola at the age of seven. Under the instruction of Bernard Klinger he went on to play in several ensembles, among them the Greater Westchester Youth Orchestras, New York State Youth Orchestra, and the Greenwich Connecticut Symphony Orchestra as a guest musician. Anton went on to enroll and graduate from the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory division as part of Karen Ritscher’s viola studio. He receive his Bachelors of Music from the Steinhardt School at New York University on full scholarship, as well as his Masters of Music degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst on full scholarship. Anton currently resides in Hadley, Massachusetts where he performs regularly with the New England Repertory Orchestra, and actively substitutes with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra as well as with other ensembles in Boston and the greater New England area. Anton currently serves as the Professor of Viola at Clark University in the department of Visual and Performing Arts, and as Visiting Professor of Viola at Amherst College.
