Bat Collazo
TUNDI Artist

About me.
Bat Selke Collazo is an emerging classical singer and actor based in Chicago. In December 2025, Bat won first place in the Windy City Performing Arts Holiday Idol competition with Purcell’s “What Power Art Thou?” aria in baritone range, and in January 2026, performed with the Elgin Symphony Orchestra as Lieutenant Frederic Charlus and bass ensemble in Hunchback of Notre Dame. Deep love for Richard Wagner’s music is the root of Bat’s ongoing training as an operatic tenor: he will perform selections from the roles of Loge and Siegmund with /kor/ productions in May 2026, and is delighted to sing in TUNDI’s Tristan und Isolde and Der Fliegende Holländer in August 2026.
As a scholar, poet, and Pagan, Bat also brings love for ancient history, mythic storytelling, fairy tales, and polytheistic spiritual traditions to their work as a performer.
Bat is queer, multiracial, and motivated by solidarity with all sorts of people against fascism, abuse, and oppression, and toward freer, healthier communities. As a genderfluid trans man, Bat enjoys being a resource and supportive colleague to other transgender singers.
